The search for Tom Spedding and his family

Tom Spedding was an instrumental figure in Manchester Rugby League circles.

He was heavily involved in Salford and Manchester based professional rugby league clubs, Broughton and Belle Vue Rangers until their demise in the 1950’s and we’d love to speak to his family.

We know that he was from the Fallowfield area of Manchester and that he was  an official of the YMCA and also a licensed ring master for the British Boxing Board of control. Tom also worked as a Rugby League correspondent for the newspaper, the Daily Despatch and we believe that he was also a Tour Manager to the 1950 and 1954 Great Britain Lions Tours to Australia and New Zealand He was also linked to the Isle of Man.

Through this site we would like to trace his relatives and wonder if anyone has any other information or stories about Tom.

Anyone with further information can contact Dave or Stefan on 07977486236 or via email at admin@wearemancunians.com.
