Dr HF Ransome

17th May 1863 – 14th November 1917. Royal Army Medical Corps (Queen Mary Military Hospital, 19th Company)

Dr HF Ransome was a former Manchester FC player who served in the Royal Army Medical Corps during the First World War. He was educated at Cambridge, and played for the university’s XV in the pack. Later, Ransome worked at Altrincham Hospital, and was also a keen golfer. He died on the 14th November 1917.

Ransome is buried at Whalley Queen Mary Hospital, Clitheroe, Grave 177
